Bake Off’s Georgie says ADHD gives her hyperfocus
A paediatric nurse who is competing on the new series of the Great British Bake Off says having attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) allows her to “hyperfocus” on her bakes. Georgie, a 34-year-old mum-of-three from Carmarthenshire, is one of 12 amateur bakers appearing in this year’s TV competition.
Prince Harry to meet girl who cares for brother
A 12-year-old girl who helps her mother care for her brother will get to meet Prince Harry when she is given a special award. Anya was nominated by her mother Gemma in the Inspirational Sibling category of the WellChild Awards. Gemma said her daughter “does so much” to help her 15-year-old brother Edward, who was born with a chromosomal disorder and developmental delay. Anya, from Matlock in Derbyshire, will receive the award in London on 30 September.
