Mencap has launched MyFun:D which the charity describes as ‘a pot of money which Mencap will spend on making a difference in your life’. MyFun:D has been created by people with a learning disability, for people with a learning disability. To apply, you just have to tell Mencap what would make your life healthier and happier. Details of how to apply are on Mencap’s website. Applications close on Monday 25th April.

Disabled activists have questioned Labour’s commitment to justice for the countless claimants whose deaths were linked to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), after it emerged that one of its senior frontbenchers is married to a DWP director-general. Long Covid could create a generation affected by disability, with people forced out of their homes and work, and some even driven to suicide, a leading expert has warned. In an exclusive interview with the Guardian, Prof Danny Altmann – an immunologist at Imperial College London – said that the UK’s current approach to Covid fails to take the impact of infections sufficiently seriously, adding that more needs to be done to aid diagnosis and treatment of long Covid.
