Guide Dogs Tech for All service offers iPads to visually impaired children aged 3-18, while secondary school-age children aged 11-18 may choose an iPhone instead. These tech devices have excellent accessibility features built-in as standard, such as screen magnification, voiceover and audio descriptions, to make many activities easier, like reading in larger fonts, magnifying photos and keeping in touch with friends.

Young people struggling with their mental health don’t ask for help
A new report by Young Minds and The Children’s Society has found that more than a quarter of young people struggling with their mental health don’t ask for help because they “don’t want to inconvenience anyone”. This report focuses on the experience of young people visiting their General Practitioner (GP) with mental health concerns. It highlights how GPs have a key role to play in providing advice to young people and making referrals to specialist services – but how they are often unable to help young people struggling to access early help before things reach crisis point.
